I was born in Russia, started school in Israel, moved back to Russia, and later continued my education in Latvia. Each move meant starting from zero—a new school, a new language, new people, and an entirely unfamiliar environment.

At the time, it felt overwhelming. But looking back, those experiences shaped who I am today. I learned how to adapt quickly, embrace uncertainty, and remain resilient in the face of constant change. That ability has stayed with me through every stage of my life and career.

Following Curiosity Across Borders: The Making of an Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurship wasn’t a single decision—it evolved naturally over time.

From a young age, I was drawn to technology. I experimented with code, worked with 3D graphics, and became deeply curious about how systems function. That curiosity gradually turned into action.

My career shifted with my surroundings. In Latvia, I developed applications as the IT sector expanded. In Thailand, I moved into the tourism industry, recognizing its rapid growth. Later, in Israel, I explored real estate, focusing on property management.

Over time, I realized I wanted to focus on what I truly enjoy. That clarity brought me back to technology. Today, I run an IT company specializing in cybersecurity, as well as application and website development. Whether it’s software, automation, or emerging technologies, learning and building remain at the core of what I do.

Bridging Experience and Recognition: Why I Chose UoPeople

For years, I had the skills—but not the formal recognition.

As a self-taught developer and entrepreneur, I had built substantial real-world experience. However, I knew that without a degree, certain opportunities would remain out of reach. That realization led me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

UoPeople provided the opportunity I needed. Its flexible and accessible model allowed me to continue working, support my family, and finally complete my education—something I had postponed for years.

How My Degree Transformed My Path

Earning my degree wasn’t just about academics; it was about validation and completion.

For years, I had built knowledge through experience, but this degree gave it formal recognition. It opened doors to professional opportunities that required academic qualifications and strengthened my confidence in everything I had already achieved.

At the same time, it allowed me to finish something I had set aside for too long, giving me a sense of closure and accomplishment.

More importantly, it reshaped how I see my future. I am now preparing to pursue a master’s degree and am even considering a doctorate—paths I had not previously imagined for myself. Education didn’t just advance my career; it expanded my sense of what is possible.

Creating, Moving, Living: Life Beyond Work and Study

Even outside of work, I continue to build and create through personal projects.

At the same time, I value staying active and connected to the outdoors. I’m a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoy riding in nature. I also enjoy diving, surfing, roller skating, and skiing, depending on the season.

These experiences help me maintain balance and remind me to appreciate the journey, not just the destination.

Starting Before Certainty: A Philosophy of Action

If there’s one belief that guides me, it’s this: there is never a perfect time to start.

Life is constantly moving, and waiting for ideal conditions often means missing opportunities. Progress comes from taking action, not from waiting.

Challenges are inevitable, but I see them as part of the process—opportunities to learn, adapt, and grow.

Looking Ahead: Goals Shaped by Possibility and Growth

My immediate goal is to continue my education and complete a master’s degree. I am also open to pursuing a doctorate, as my studies have shown me that this path is both achievable and exciting.

Professionally, I plan to continue growing as an entrepreneur, explore new areas of technology, and continually develop my skills.

For me, the journey is ongoing—it’s simply evolving.
