Overview

The Certificate in Game Design equips students with foundational skills in game mechanics, storytelling, prototyping, and engine-based development, grounded in an understanding of the cultural and ethical dimensions of games. Through hands-on assignments and iterative practice, students learn to design, test, and refine engaging gameplay experiences, to create a portfolio-ready playable capstone game as a final project.

Admission Requirements

Anyone who has graduated high school, is proficient in English and is 16 years of age or older can study online at UoPeople.

Yes! The program culminates in a final portfolio (capstone) course where you design, develop, and present a complete game. This final project is intended to demonstrate your ability to take a game from concept to completion.
