a female business administration student of UoPeople

Trish M., Business Administration, Zimbabwe

Hailing from Murewa, Zimbabwe, Trish M. comes from a loving family of five. Her childhood was filled with love, laughter, and learning. Her growing years spent in her small town instilled in her the values of community and hard work. Despite being surrounded by the most loving people, Trish’s academic journey was not without its struggles. Her family faced difficulties in paying her school fees. However, instead of being bogged down by these initial struggles, Trish became more determined to excel. With the support of her loved ones, she persevered and successfully completed her schooling.

Driven by her passion for numbers, she earned a diploma in accountancy from Harare Polytechnic, which opened the door to her current position as a business administrator at Enernet Technology, where she manages finances and operations.

She is excited to be earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration at UoPeople, an opportunity that has created new paths for growth and learning for her.

“I’m expanding my knowledge and skills. I chose to study at University of the People for several reasons. Firstly, accessibility. UoPeople is an online university, which means I can study from anywhere, at any time, as long as I have an internet connection. This flexibility is crucial for me, given my work commitments and personal responsibilities. Secondly, affordability. UoPeople, being a tuition-free university, allows me to earn my degree without accumulating significant student debt. Thirdly, the quality of education. UoPeople offers a high-quality education with experienced instructors and a rigorous curriculum. Fourthly and most importantly, UoPeople’s global community. The university has a diverse student body from all over the world, which provides a unique opportunity to learn from and connect with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds.”

Being an eternal optimist, Trish takes great pride in her achievements and is thankful for the opportunities that have come her way. Her ultimate dream is to establish her own business, creating opportunities for others and contributing to her community’s betterment. She firmly believes that with determination, resilience, and the right support, she can realize all her dreams.

As a university with a mission to support global learners like Trish, we are super stoked looking at how far she has come. We wish her all the best for her future.
