In her words, Nazek is a “fun, sociable, and strong individual.” But there was a time when life was tumultuous for her. As a result of financial difficulties, she had to change from an international to a public school. It was during this time she learned to adapt to a completely new environment. “That phase was quite hard for me; I felt a lot of academic pressure. I had to practically build myself again,” she says.

This experience left a deep impression on her, making her acutely aware of how circumstances can change quickly –and why it’s so important to be willing to learn and grow from these changes.

Nazek graduated high school during the Covid19 lockdown and used her flexible mindset to quickly adapt to the opportunities available to her. “I didn’t want a year to pass by without achieving anything. That’s when I started looking for remote universities. My goal was to get into a school that offered complete flexibility to the learner, and that’s how I found UoPeople,” says Nazek.

“I was impressed by the university’s flexible, accredited, tuition-free model. I evaluated the university from every possible angle before making the decision to pursue my Associate’s degree in Health Science. The program is everything I ever wanted as a college student and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to build a successful career,” she says.

Nazek loves the sense of global community at University of the People. “I have a great appreciation for the university’s overall mission and how the courses are specifically designed to work for anyone. I am so thankful for access to such high-quality education.”

While Nazek’s main goal is to be a successful healthcare professional, she is also passionate about healthy eating, sports, henna artistry, and reading and writing novels. “I have always imagined myself as a healthcare professional working around patients, doctors, and nurses,” she says excitedly. What’s next for her? Nazek has plans to enter a nursing college for further specialization and clinical experience after finishing her Associate’s in Health Science at UoPeople. We can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes.
