Meet Jasmin G.! World Traveler, Dancer, and Health Science Student
Jasmin G., Health Science, USA
Jasmin G. grew up in the rural region of the Philippines. From her early years, most of her life was spent on the go, since her family moved often. According to her, these experiences helped Jasmin G. to adapt to new surroundings.
As she grew up, not much changed. Jasmin continued traveling, going to school, and working all around the world. After earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Maryhill College, located in Quezon Province, she went to Japan to work as a caregiver. Jasmin then migrated to the United States in 2015 and worked briefly for the Navy Exchange before earning her Administrative Assistant degree with Ashworth College in Atlanta. She was even accepted into the Delta Epsilon Tau International Honor Society—a privilege she earned for her excellent grades.
Where is Jasmin today? She’s working with a consulting firm as an agent for a pharmacy. To advance in her career, she decided to pursue a health science degree at University of the People.
“I enrolled in the bachelor’s program because I found UoPeople to be a unique concept. I love that it’s tuition-free and flexible. My experience so far has been great,” she says. “The instructors at UoPeople are very supportive and I enjoy attending exclusive virtual round table meetings. The library resources are comprehensive and high-quality. The peer-to-peer interaction at UoPeople is remarkable. I deeply appreciate the quality of learning I’ve been receiving.”
When not studying, Jasmin still loves to travel and attend conferences about financial education. She is also extremely passionate about dance and the music lessons she takes in her free time.“I never want to cease learning, no matter what I’m studying,” she says with a smile.
Jasmin’s brilliance and adventurous spirit is inspiring. We wish her the best of luck as she pursues her degree with UoPeople.
