“UoPeople’s Tuition-Free Model Ensures Debt-Free Education,” Says Ibrahim, a Computer Science Student

Ibrahim grew up in Kano, Nigeria, deeply connected to the city’s traditions and values. “Experiences and connections with my hometown have shaped my life. Growing up, I was immersed in the colorful local festivals and the rich history of Kano State. The warm and welcoming community that defines Kano instilled in me a strong sense of hospitality and camaraderie,” he shares with great pride.  

Ibrahim’s family has always been at the core of his life. He comes from a close-knit community that has supported and encouraged his aspirations throughout his journey. Hard work and determination have been his family’s main values that have helped him stay ahead.  

From the start of his academic and professional journey, he chose the path of excellence. “I completed my early education in Kano, demonstrating a thirst for knowledge from a young age. I ventured into various roles, each contributing to my growth and development. I have worked in diverse industries, gaining valuable experience and skills. My employment history reflects my adaptability and eagerness to explore new opportunities. My work in job placement services has allowed me to help others secure meaningful careers,” he shares.  

Now based out of Dhaka Bangladesh, he wishes to make a significant contribution to society by earning a college degree. He found out about University of the People via Instagram while exploring educational opportunities. “My biggest achievement has been pursuing higher education at UoPeople while balancing professional and personal responsibilities. It’s a milestone that ensures quality education despite financial and time constraints. I chose to study at UoPeople for several compelling reasons. Lastly, I’m drawn to the university’s mission of making higher education accessible to individuals from all walks of life, regardless of their background or geographical location. This aligns with my values, and I’m proud to be part of a community that believes in the transformative power of education for all,” he shares with great enthusiasm.    

Ibrahim believes strongly in resilience, lifelong learning, community, and purpose and chooses to see challenges as opportunities for growth. He embraces learning as a continuous journey. Human connections and collaboration are essential to his success, and he strives to uplift others through his work and education. “I am driven by a deep sense of purpose—to make a meaningful impact in society by helping others and creating opportunities. Life is about progress, not just reaching destinations, and I am committed to walking this path with determination and vision,” he adds.
