“UoPeople is strengthening my ability to lead in an increasingly interconnected world,” Says Anderson Raimann V., an M.Ed. Student
Anderson Raimann V., Education, Canada
Originally from Brazil and now living in Canada, Anderson Raimann V., an M.Ed. student at University of the People, has built a life and career around education, curiosity, and lifelong learning. Having lived in several countries throughout his life, he has gained a deep appreciation for different cultures, perspectives, and approaches to education—experiences that continue to shape both his professional and academic journey.
Growing up in a family that valued education, resilience, and critical thinking, Anderson was encouraged from an early age to ask questions, explore new ideas, and never stop learning.
“That foundation sparked a lifelong love of learning,” he says.
His educational journey has been both diverse and rewarding. Anderson holds a bachelor’s degree in Language, Arts, and Literature with a focus on French and Portuguese, and has also completed studies in school management through Harvard Business School. While he spent many years focused on building his professional career, he eventually reached a point where he felt called to return to formal education.
“Returning to my studies is a deliberate step toward personal and professional growth,” he explains. “It allows me to integrate years of experience with new insights and continue growing as an educator.”
Over the years, Anderson has accumulated extensive experience in teaching, curriculum development, and educational leadership. Today, he serves as a Director of Teaching and Learning and Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator, supporting teachers and students within the International Baccalaureate framework.
His work has given him a firsthand view of the power of curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration in helping students thrive.
Throughout his career, Anderson has also faced challenges. Adapting to new educational systems, working across cultures, and integrating into diverse teams required flexibility, patience, and resilience. Yet those experiences ultimately strengthened his ability to connect with others and lead effectively.
“I learned the importance of communication, cultural awareness, and adaptability,” he says.
For Anderson, success is measured not only by personal achievements but by the positive impact he has on those around him.
“I consider my greatest successes to be the moments when I have helped colleagues and students grow, contributed to innovative curriculum design, or helped create an inclusive and supportive learning environment,” he shares.
His desire to continue learning and expanding his impact as an educator led him to UoPeople.
After years dedicated to advancing his career, Anderson was looking for a program that would allow him to continue his education while balancing the demands of leadership, work, and personal commitments. UoPeople’s flexible and accessible model provided exactly that opportunity.
“I chose UoPeople because it offers a flexible, accessible, and high-quality education that aligns with my professional and personal goals,” he says.
Beyond flexibility, Anderson was drawn to the university’s global learning environment. He values the opportunity to engage with students and educators from around the world, exchanging ideas and learning from diverse perspectives.
“My favorite thing about studying at UoPeople is the opportunity to engage with a truly global community of learners,” he says. “Collaborating with peers from different countries and backgrounds has broadened my perspective and enriched my understanding of education in diverse contexts.”
Like many adult learners, Anderson acknowledges that balancing work, personal responsibilities, and academic deadlines can be challenging. However, he views those challenges as opportunities for growth.
“Managing professional life, personal life, and study time requires discipline,” he says. “But it has strengthened my time-management skills, resilience, and focus.”
Looking ahead, Anderson believes his degree will help him become an even more effective educator and leader. He hopes to continue advancing in educational leadership while supporting teachers, improving learning experiences for students, and contributing to meaningful educational change.
“Education has the power to transform lives,” he says. “I want to continue creating opportunities for students and educators to reach their full potential.”
Through his studies at UoPeople, Anderson is gaining new perspectives, expanding his expertise, and strengthening his ability to lead in an increasingly interconnected world.
As Anderson continues his journey as an educator, leader, and lifelong learner, we look forward to seeing the positive impact he will continue to make in classrooms, schools, and communities around the world.
