“UoPeople Is Helping Me Move Toward My Goal of Working in IT,” Says Abdul B., Computer Science Student
Abdul B., Computer Science, UAE
Originally from Pakistan and now living in the UAE, Abdul B. has built his journey around perseverance, hard work, and a commitment to education. Growing up in a humble family, he learned early the importance of patience, resilience, and making the most of every opportunity.
Abdul moved to the UAE to support his family and pursue a better future. Alongside working full-time, he is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at University of the People. Balancing work, family responsibilities, and education has not always been easy, but he remains committed to growing both personally and professionally.
His professional experience includes roles in building management and security. While these jobs have not always aligned with his long-term career goals, they have helped Abdul develop valuable skills in communication, responsibility, discipline, and problem-solving.
“Every difficulty I faced has made me stronger, and every success, no matter how small, motivates me to keep moving forward,” he says.
Abdul chose UoPeople because its flexible, affordable, and accessible model allows him to pursue higher education while continuing to work and support his family. Traditional university options were not practical for his circumstances, making the flexibility of online learning especially important.
“Being able to study from anywhere and manage my own schedule has allowed me to continue my education while working full time,” Abdul says.
He also values being part of a global learning community. Connecting with students from different cultures has expanded his perspective and enriched his experience both academically and personally.
For Abdul, earning his degree is an important step toward opening new professional opportunities. He hopes to build a career in IT or digital services, where he can apply his skills and create meaningful impact.
He believes his education will provide more than an academic qualification. It will also demonstrate his ability to manage his time, remain committed, and succeed in a self-directed learning environment.
As Abdul continues working toward his degree, he remains focused on turning the challenges he has faced into motivation for the future. With determination, education, and a willingness to keep learning, he is building the foundation for the career and life he hopes to create.
