“I Chose UoPeople to Strengthen My Leadership and Business Skills,” Says Abdalla S., MBA Student
Abdalla S., Business Administration, UAE
Originally from Egypt and now based in the UAE, Abdalla S. has spent the past decade building an international career across the Middle East. Along the way, he has worked in healthcare, home services, and indoor environmental quality, taking on roles in customer experience, operations, training and development, quality management, sales, and contact center management.
Abdalla’s professional journey has taken him across Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, where he has worked with diverse teams and stakeholders. These experiences have strengthened his leadership, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills while teaching him how to adapt to different workplace cultures.
“I believe in hard work, education, and continuous self-improvement,” Abdalla says. “These values have guided my journey as I have moved across different countries to pursue better opportunities and professional growth.”
Throughout his career, Abdalla has contributed to customer experience transformation projects, developed performance frameworks, supported quality management systems, and helped teams improve their processes through training and structured performance management. For him, professional growth has always gone hand in hand with learning.
His passion for learning also extends beyond his professional life. Abdalla is a published author with five books available on Amazon and has built an online community of more than 7,500 followers across Meta platforms. Through his writing, he shares ideas about leadership, personal development, and human behavior.
Now, Abdalla is adding another chapter to his academic journey by finishing his MBA at UoPeople. Having already earned a bachelor’s degree, he chose to return to higher education to deepen his understanding of business strategy, leadership, and financial management.
“I chose UoPeople because it offers a flexible and accessible learning model that allows working professionals to continue their academic journey without interrupting their careers,” he explains.
As someone balancing a demanding career with his academic and personal goals, the flexibility of online learning has been particularly valuable. It allows Abdalla to organize his studies around his professional responsibilities while continuing to pursue his long-term ambitions.
He was also drawn to UoPeople’s mission of making higher education accessible and affordable to students around the world.
“I believe education should be available to everyone regardless of location or financial background,” Abdalla says.
One of his favorite aspects of studying at UoPeople is the diversity of its student community. Learning alongside students from different countries and professional backgrounds has exposed him to a wide range of perspectives and enriched his understanding of global business and social challenges.
The international nature of the university also presents its own challenges. Coordinating discussions and group work across different time zones can require additional planning and communication. However, Abdalla sees these experiences as opportunities to strengthen skills that are valuable in the workplace.
“Working with people across different time zones requires communication, collaboration, and time management,” he says. “Those are skills that continue to benefit me professionally.”
For Abdalla, the MBA program provides an opportunity to connect more than a decade of professional experience with deeper academic knowledge. His studies are helping him strengthen his strategic thinking, financial decision-making, and organizational leadership skills.
Looking ahead, Abdalla hopes to move into executive leadership roles where he can help shape organizational strategy and build customer-centered, high-performing businesses. He also dreams of starting his own company and creating opportunities for others to grow professionally.
For him, leadership is about more than achieving business results. It is about developing people, sharing knowledge, and creating meaningful impact.
As Abdalla continues his MBA journey, he is bringing together international experience, academic learning, and a passion for sharing knowledge to build the kind of leadership career he has long envisioned.
