Professor Dr. Kriengsak Charoenwongsak

Professor Dr. Kriengsak Chareonwongsak, a Senior Fellow at Harvard University, USA, and Fellow at Said Business School, the University of Oxford, was in addition a Prime Ministerial Adviser in Thailand, a Member of Parliament and Vice Chair of the Economic Development Committee in the House of Representatives.


Currently, he is President of the Institute of Future Studies for Development. As a businessman, he is Chairman of Success Group of Companies, an Executive Chairman Adviser to CP ALL Public Company Limited in Thailand and a director of a public listed company in Singapore. In 1981 he graduated from Monash University, Australia, with First Class Honours and an Economics PhD. He obtained a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University, USA, and holds a Master’s Degree from Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, UK, having also completed Post Doctoral Studies at the University of Oxford, UK.


He has held various university teaching positions both in Thailand and abroad, and has also filled fifty other positions in a number of national and international organizations and committees. For example, he was adviser to the President of the National Assembly and adviser to many Ministers in various governments. He is the author of 200 books, and along with being a popular radio and TV commentator, is a newspaper and magazine columnist, discussing political and economic issues of current concern. His perspectives are often highlighted in interviews, whether in Thailand or overseas.
