“UoPeople Made It Possible for Me to Keep Learning From Wherever Life Took Me,” Says Amtal Noor C., Computer Science Student
Amtal Noor C., Computer Science, Peru
Originally from Pakistan and now based in Peru, Amtal Noor C. grew up moving frequently because of her father’s job. While living in different countries exposed her to new cultures and environments, it also made maintaining continuity in her education difficult.
Each move brought a new language, education system, and set of administrative requirements. As a result, Amtal often had to adjust to changes in her schooling. Despite these challenges, she remained determined to complete her education and, with the support of her family, successfully finished high school.
When she began looking for a university, Amtal knew she needed an institution that could provide stability regardless of where life took her. She wanted an up-to-date curriculum, instruction in English, international recognition, and the flexibility to study without being affected by future relocations.
That search led her to University of the People.
“UoPeople stood out to me as an accredited institution with a modern curriculum and a truly global learning environment,” Amtal says. “The online format allowed me to study consistently without worrying about relocation or changes in my living situation.”
Now nearing completion of her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Amtal describes her experience at UoPeople as transformative. Her coursework has helped her develop technical knowledge, critical-thinking abilities, and problem-solving skills, while supportive instructors have encouraged her throughout her studies.
For someone whose education was once frequently disrupted by circumstances beyond her control, the consistency of online learning has been particularly meaningful.
“My goal has always been to study at a respected university with a strong curriculum that I could carry with me anywhere in the world,” she says. “UoPeople made that possible.”
Amtal particularly values the flexibility of the program and the opportunity to learn alongside students from around the world. Discussion forums and interactions with classmates have added a global dimension to her education, while her instructors have helped make the online learning experience engaging and supportive.
Adapting to self-directed online learning was initially a challenge. Over time, however, it helped Amtal develop stronger time-management, discipline, and independent-learning skills.
As she approaches graduation, Amtal sees her Computer Science degree as a foundation for her next academic and professional chapter. She has gained technical and critical-thinking skills that she hopes to apply in the technology sector and plans to pursue a master’s degree after completing her bachelor’s.
“Graduating from an accredited and internationally recognized university will allow me to confidently apply for master’s programs at reputable institutions and compete in the global job market,” she explains.
For Amtal, the value of her UoPeople education extends beyond the knowledge she has gained. The experience has given her confidence in her ability to adapt, continue learning, and pursue her ambitions regardless of where life takes her.
After a childhood defined by constant movement, she is now approaching graduation with a clear direction for the future—and the confidence to keep moving forward.
