“Engaging Courses and Supportive Instructors Made My MBA Journey Truly Rewarding,” Says Khiromon N.

Khiromon N., Business Administration, United States

Originally from Tajikistan, Khiromon N. now calls Brooklyn, New York, her home. She moved to the United States with her family in 2017, carrying with her the rich cultural traditions and strong family values she grew up with. From an early age, she developed a strong sense of faith, discipline, and a deep appreciation for education, values her parents strongly emphasized.

The transition to life in a new country was not without challenges. “The differences in education systems meant that my prior knowledge did not always align with what was expected in the U.S., making it difficult to find stable employment at first. Additionally, adjusting to the new culture, job market, and way of life was overwhelming,” she shares.

It was through a friend, also an immigrant from Tajikistan, that Khiromon first learned about the University of the People. “Hearing her success story motivated me to explore the MBA program here. I chose UoPeople because of its flexible learning model, affordability, and accessibility. Unlike traditional universities, UoPeople allows me to study at my own pace while managing my job and family responsibilities. The fact that it is tuition-free made higher education a possibility for me without the burden of student debt. The supportive instructors, well-structured courses, and engaging online discussions have made my learning experience both enriching and rewarding. I fully recommend UoPeople to others, especially those who need a flexible and affordable education without sacrificing quality.”

Khiromon especially appreciates the interactive case studies in her program, such as one on financial inclusion in emerging markets, which aligned closely with her own passions. “Conversations with peers from around the world have added new layers of cultural and intellectual perspective that I deeply value. Studying with such a diverse global peer group makes learning even more enriching.”

How does Khiromon balance her studies with family and work responsibilities? “As a mother, wife, and professional, I often find myself stretched thin, staying up late at night to complete assignments after a long day of responsibilities. There have been moments of self-doubt, but over time, I have mastered the art of structuring my days, setting priorities, and preventing burnout. UoPeople’s flexibility is a true lifesaver, making it possible to pursue my dreams while still caring for my loved ones.”

Now at the finish line of her MBA, Khiromon is passionate about financial inclusion and using technology to close economic gaps in underserved communities. She envisions a future where she can contribute to projects that empower people in emerging markets through access to financial services, helping them build stronger financial futures.

Outside of her academic and professional journey, Khiromon enjoys going for walks, hiking, and unwinding with comedies like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Friends, shows that always bring her joy after long days of work.

Khiromon’s journey is a testament to perseverance, adaptability, and the belief that education can transform lives. Armed with a passion to create a positive impact, she continues to move forward with resilience, purpose, and hope for the future, and we wish her all the best in everything she wants to achieve in life.
