Growing up in India, Ashokkumar always valued education. However, he admits that academics didn’t come naturally.

“I faced a lot of challenges in my early school years. I managed to succeed with the help of a simple mantra: listen to the instructor and do as they say. It may seem basic to most people but for me, the journey has been arduous. I am very proud of how far I’ve come,” he shares.

Ashokkumar decided to pursue his bachelor’s degree in business administration so he could pursue his dream of owning his own business.

“I’m passionate about helping other professionals unlock opportunities and lead fulfilling, fun, successful, and well-balanced careers,” he says. “I plan on having a professional career consultancy firm of my own.”

Ashokkumar decided to actively work towards the future he envisioned for himself and began looking for an online university. After an extensive search, he found University of the People.

He was drawn to UoPeople by the chance to take high-quality online courses with students from around the world.

“My self-confidence is enhanced every day and my entrepreneurial ambitions will come true with the help of everything I am learning at UoPeople,” he says. “Studying at an affordable international university that offers complete flexibility and ease of learning is a dream come true for someone like me.”

Despite the flexibility offered by UoPeople, juggling a full-time job and managing family life while pursuing a degree can, at times, be challenging for Ashokkumar.

“Priorities do clash occasionally but, when it happens, I take a step back and reflect on ways to create the right work-life balance. I often ask for help from friends and family, dedicate time to study, and don’t think of work beyond office hours,” he shares.

We are thrilled to know Ashokkumar believes firmly in the power of his dreams and is determined to work hard for them. University of the People was founded to empower students. We wish Ashokkumar all the best on his entrepreneurial journey.
