In order to take this certificate program, however, students must have an associate or bachelor’s degree. There are 61 credits, with four courses in general education, along with an internship or capstone project. 

2. Post University 

Post University also offers an online paralegal certificate that consists of 30-33 credits. The program is meant to be finished within a year. Each student is assigned with a faculty advisor. Students gain experience with research, client interaction, the basics of testimony, interrogation, depositions, and document preparation.

3. Liberty University 

Liberty University’s eight-week, entirely online paralegal program can be completed in just one year. The textbooks are free, which is another reason why this program is said to be affordable. 

Students who wish to enroll must show proof of high school completion and English proficiency. If you’ve taken any college courses, you must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. 

4. Lake Superior College

Lake Superior College’s online paralegal certificate requires students to complete 30 credits. If they wish to then obtain an associate degree, the credits can be applied towards it. 

Courses will teach terminology, research, documents, and legal software. The program is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. 

5. Ocean County College 

Students who complete the Ocean County College Proficiency in Paralegal Studies program will be prepared to work in law offices and legal environments. Nine courses make up the program, along with two electives, which can be taken in: communications, accounting, management, real estate law, mediation, psychology, or criminal law. 

Even if you never completed high school, you can apply for this program. However, to receive financial aid, you’ll at least need to have proof of a GED.

8. Rice University 

Located in Houston, Texas, Rice University offers an online Paralegal Graduate Certificate Program. The skills-based coursework can take place online and in evening classes.
