Online Master of Education in Advanced Teaching (M.Ed.) Courses

The M.Ed. program at UoPeople is designed to provide advanced training for educators. It emphasizes instructional techniques, curriculum development, and assessment strategies. The program encourages a global perspective on education, integrating historical, social, and philosophical aspects from a comparative lens. Students gain insight into learning theories, classroom management strategies, and how physical, psychological, social, and cultural forces shape education.

UoPeople’s M.Ed. program does not lead to state licensure or certification. Instead, it prepares teachers for independent schools and international teaching opportunities. It was developed in collaboration with the International Baccalaureate (IB), allowing qualified graduates to bypass the IB Category 1 Workshop requirement.

Students can specialize in Elementary and Middle School Education (grades K-8) or Secondary Education (grades 6-12). The program includes core courses, specialization courses, electives, and a capstone project. Delivered fully online, it caters to teachers seeking to enhance their expertise and impact in diverse educational settings. A total of 39 semester credit hours are required to complete the degree.
