Mr. Paul Affuso is the Chief Financial Officer for University of the People. Affuso holds a B.A. in Anthropology from New York University and a M.A. in Government from Essex University in the U.K. Affuso has had a remarkable career at New York University, holding numerous notable positions.

At New York University, Affuso served as Associate Dean for Administrative Services & Facilities from 2004 to 2010 at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, overseeing the day to day operating needs of the school and all capital projects and plans. Additionally, Affuso has served as Associate Dean for Finance & Facilities from 1994 to 2003 where he oversaw an annual operating budget of $125 million, endowment and restricted funds of $200 million, and a campus that encompasses over 400,000 gross square feet in three academic buildings. As Associate Dean for Finance & Facilities, he also introduced STARS (Stern Teaching and Research Supplement), a system that allocates individual self-managed spending accounts to each faculty member to support his/her academic needs. From 1982 to 1994, Affuso served as New York University’s Associate Dean for Administration and from 1973-1982 as the Director of the Academic Computing Center.

In addition to his long standing career with New York University, Affuso has been a Consultant for the New York Civil Liberties Union and a Consultant for the New York City Charter Revision Commission.
