Dr. Eduard Vallory
Director of BIST
Dr. Eduard Vallory is a social analyst and expert in change management. He is the Director of BIST (The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology) and the Chairman of CATESCO, formerly Center for UNESCO of Catalonia. He has also been founder and Director of the program for education change “Escola Nova 21”, gathering half a thousand Catalan schools. He has also lead a program for the professional development of teachers by appointment of the Government of Catalonia.
He holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences by Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona), with a dissertation on “Global Citizenship Education”; an MA in Social Sciences by The University of Chicago; a BA in Philosophy by the University of Barcelona; and an AMP by the IESE Business School. He is the author of the book World Scouting: Educating for Global Citizenship (Palgrave MacMillan, 2012), analyzing the Scout movement globally.
Dr. Vallory has been the first Director of the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (2006-12), Visiting Scholar at New York University, Research Fellow of Fitzwilliam College at the University of Cambridge, and Chief of Staff of the Ministry for Universities and Research of the Government of Catalonia.
