About Lagos State University Of Science And Technology
Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) is a state-owned university in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. It opened in January 1978 as Lagos State College of Science and Technology (LACOSTECH), initially at a temporary site now known as the Isolo Campus, with five departments: Accountancy, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Marketing, and Insurance. On 1 August 1978, the School of Agriculture in Ikorodu merged with the institution, forming the nucleus of the permanent Ikorodu campus. In 1986, the Lagos State Government renamed the institution Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), and in February 2022 it became a full university under its current name. LASUSTECH operates across campuses in Ikorodu, Isolo, and Surulere, offering programs through five colleges to a student population of roughly 6,000, and has produced over 120,000 graduates across its history as a polytechnic and university.
LASUSTECH’s motto is „Mission and Professionalism.“ Its JAMB cut-off mark has fluctuated across recent admission cycles, generally in the 180-195 range.
