Elizade University

Elizade University is a private university in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Nigeria, licensed by the National Universities Commission on 28 February 2012 and founded by Chief Michael Ade Ojo, a Nigerian businessman and philanthropist best known for founding the Elizade Group, a major Toyota vehicle distributor in Nigeria. The university’s name combines „Eliza,“ from his wife Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo, and „Ade,“ from his own name — the same naming convention used for his business, Elizade Independent Agencies, founded in 1971. Elizade offers programs across five faculties: Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Basic and Applied Sciences, Humanities, Social and Management Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, and Law.

The university’s motto is „Pragmatic Innovation for Development.“ Chief Michael Ade Ojo served as founding Chancellor from 2012 to 2022; since 2023, the Chancellor has been Chief (Mrs.) Olajumoke Adenowo, a prominent Nigerian architect.
