About Adekunle Ajasin University
Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) is a state-owned university in Ondo State, Nigeria. It was founded in March 1982 as Obafemi Awolowo University by the government of the old Ondo State under Governor Adekunle Ajasin, with its initial campus in Ado-Ekiti; it was renamed Ondo State University in 1985. Following the creation of Ekiti State in 1996, the university was jointly owned by Ondo and Ekiti States until 1999, when Ondo State relocated it to its permanent site in Akungba-Akoko and it was subsequently renamed Adekunle Ajasin University in the founder’s honour. The university comprises 8 faculties — Arts, Education, Law, Science, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Agriculture, and Environmental Design and Management — with a student population of over 20,000.
AAUA’s motto is „For Learning and Service.“ Its alumni network, AAUA Alumni Connect, counts over 20,000 registered graduates.
