Elizade University

Elizade University is a private university in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Nigeria, licensed by the National Universities Commission on 28 February 2012 and founded by Chief Michael Ade Ojo, a Nigerian businessman and philanthropist best known for founding the Elizade Group, a major Toyota vehicle distributor in Nigeria. The university’s name combines « Eliza, » from his wife Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo, and « Ade, » from his own name — the same naming convention used for his business, Elizade Independent Agencies, founded in 1971. Elizade offers programs across five faculties: Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Basic and Applied Sciences, Humanities, Social and Management Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, and Law.

The university’s motto is « Pragmatic Innovation for Development. » Chief Michael Ade Ojo served as founding Chancellor from 2012 to 2022; since 2023, the Chancellor has been Chief (Mrs.) Olajumoke Adenowo, a prominent Nigerian architect.
